A New Day

He told her he didn’t love her anymore.
She was silent.

He told her he had found someone else.
She sat there stunned.

He told her he had moved on.
She had tears in her eyes.

He told her she’d have to move out.
She was finally free.

He sneered.
She smiled.

Her eyes were brimming with tears – tears of relief and hope.
Her wounds would now get to heal.

He told her it was over.
She knew it was a new beginning.

  1. The sucker did not realize that in his attempt to deal a lasting blow, she was thanking him, for at last she had the courage to move on. Good on you lady!

    1. Thanks 🙂 although I can’t figure out whether that picture is a spoiler or an add-on. Do the words give enough of a hint of the goings-on on their own? Or is it that picture what drives the message home ?

      1. Both drive the message but the image is powerful, especially with the size, it makes you stop and stare.

  2. The picture is sad. The poem is great.

Second last line has a typo 🙂

    Love and light <3

    Anand 🙂

      1. I have much sharper eyes I keep them not-so-sharp because friends get hurt. My brothers used to get 24-25 marks out of 25 in unit tests in school and I used to recheck their copies to give them only 10-12/25 I have had impeccable reputation for finding faults which I have curbed a lot by effort now 😀
